1. Displaying 3D objects
In this series of tutorials you will learn to draw basic shapes using BetaCell as well as how are colors applied to solid objects.

1.1. Modern Computer Graphics Basics

In this tutorial you will learn how modern computer graphics programs are made in order to take advantage of shaders; a shader is a program that runs on the GPU (your graphics card).

Also you will learn what a mesh is and how to create spheres with an arbitrary level of detail using BetaCell.

Some of the covered topics are:
  • Organization of an XNA application
  • How the flexibility of BetaCell is applied to avoid hurting the frame rate
  • Drawing in 3D

In this tutorial you will create your first 3D scene using BetaCell. This tutorial is very important because it's the base of many other tutorials.

Some of the covered topics are:
  • The mesh and the visitor pattern
  • Composition of transforms via matrix multiplication
  • Creating planes and cylinders

In this tutorial you will create a cube and see the result of defining the color on a vertex basis.

Some of the covered topics are:
  • What's a vertex container
  • How to create a general vertex container
